A soft, gentle spoon

Hannah is very strong willed and likes to push the limits, probably like most kids. Tonight was no exception. Brian was playing his guitar and Hannah wanted to touch it, but Brian told her not until her hands were clean. She went to wash them in the sink, but only used water. She of course eventually touched the guitar, even though her hands were still not clean. Brian told her that she was going to get a spanking for disobeying. She tried to talk him out of it. He gave her the choice-my hand or a spoon. She chose the spoon, but said it had to be a "soft, gentle spoon." It was hard not to laugh during a time that she's supposed to be being disciplined. She eventually got her spanking. Brian and I probably feel like most parents, that it's no fun disciplining our kids, but it's our job to raise our children to be responsible, respectful, and obedient people.
