Just when I thought it was getting easier to leave the house with two...

This afternoon I was running some errands with both of the kids. Noah had to eat, so I pulled into a parking lot and fed him in the passenger seat. I left the car running so that we could have the air conditioning. After he was done eating, I wanted to change his diaper. Our car is a hatchback, so I was going to change him in the very back. I got out of the car with Noah and closed the passenger side door and then tried to open the trunk door. I was locked out of the car and Hannah was still inside. I tried to get her to unbuckle her car seat so that she could reach to unlock the door. She recently figured out how to unbuckle the top part of her car seat, but when I actually want her to do it, she can't. I also remembered that the child lock was on her door, so that wouldn't have worked anyway. There wasn't anyone around in the parking lot, so I decided to go inside the building where I had seen someone enter earlier. I saw a lady trying to enter the bank and I asked to borrow her cell phone because it was an emergency. She fumbled through her purse and I don't know if she actually had a phone, but she couldn't help me. The bank was closed, but there were still employees inside. One of the employees let me in to use the phone. I called Brian and he sent one of his coworkers to rescue me. While I was waiting to be rescued, Noah's diaper leaked all down my shorts. So it was an interesting afternoon.

Jennifer!!! Oh my! I'm glad there was at least someone in the bank to let you in. Just remember it is better to have 2 doors open than be locked out. Hang in there!

i agree with hannah needing therapy:) i have had that scare but never had it happen. my advice about it getting easier...it does. and spend some time with someone else and their kids and help them haul all of them around and it makes your 2 seem like a breeze. i was "mommy" to 5 kids this week helping my sis in law and now my two seem easy! have fun with the fam.

I chuckled. Why do problems come in bunches. You might consider a hide-a-key somewhere on the car.
