Ready to run
On Monday night I went shopping and to dinner with my friend and cousin Jamie. I didn't finish my meal, so I put the leftovers in a to-go box. As we were leaving the restaurant, we saw a baby raccoon walking underneath some of the cars in the parking lot. We were both kind of surprised to see a raccoon at that time because it wasn't very late. I said something like "It's probably looking for food." "If it comes after us, I'll just throw my to-go box in its direction." It didn't come after us, but we were ready to run if it did. :D The next day I told Brian about this and he seemed surprised too, because the restaurant is near a major road. He thought maybe the baby had lost its mother. I don't know anything about raccoons, but it made me think of that movie 'The Great Outdoors'.

Wow--we have raccoons in our yard quite a bit lately and at all times of the day, too. I won't let Ava go outside by herself actually. The other day at about 10am Jonah ran in and yelled "There's a raccoon by Daddy's truck!"
I guess it's time to get out the trap again and then set the little boogers free in Vancouver, Washington (across the river--there's no way they're coming back from there!). Yup, we send 'em all to the 'Couv.
I hope he liked your left-overs Jen.
Glad to know too that you did not have to run. Paulette
